DRIFT INN
At Drift Inn, discreetly set on the edge of the wilderness, three kilometres from the Victoria Falls – one of the seven wonders of the world – we celebrate and commemorate the Africa that made Hemingway happy. At Drift Inn, we’ll wind back the clock for you, to a simpler, less complicated time.
And that’s before (or after) you’ve done what you came to Victoria Falls to do, like walk in the rainforest, or take a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, or listen to a talk on David Livingstone… the list is endless. It’s about you… so we’ll arrange it for you.

COFFEE HUB
At Drift Inn we began the Victoria Falls Coffee Company, where – using beans from a farm in the Chimanimani district of the eastern highlands of Zimbabwe – we roast and blend our own coffee. They used to grow 700ha of coffee at Smaldeel Farm, now down to just 6ha – for Drift Inn and one or two other discerning customers.
YOGA
Kerrith O’Fee is a certified yoga instructor, trained at the Wellness Connection Yoga school in Cape Town, South Africa. Passionate about Health and Wellness, with a background in Psychology (BA hons degree UCT), her approach is traditional, immersive and holistic.
'OUT OF-HOUSE ACTIVITIES'
EXPERIENCES
DAVID LIVINGSTONE TALK
For anyone interested in history, or who wants to hear the fascinating story of David Livingstone, who in 1855 became the first European to see the Falls. Coming from a poor family in Glasgow, in Scotland, he went on to explore huge swathes of uncharted Africa, play a pivotal role in ending the slave trade, and become “the greatest man of his generation”.
RAINFOREST WALK
People come to the Victoria Falls is to see them, and there’s no finer or closer view than from the Rainforest Walk.In the words of AA Gill: “Their monumental power and awe-inducing presence took me by surprise. The Romantic poets made a distinction between beauty, which is made by man out of aesthetics and artifice, and the sublime, which belonged to God or creation and was the product of nature. I really wasn’t prepared for such a drenching evocation of the sublime.”
SUNSET CRUISE ON THE ZAMBEZI RIVER
Zambezi means ‘Great’ in the local Tonga dialect, which is what the Zambezi river is, unquestionably – a great river. Take a comfortable, slow Sunset Cruise up river from the Falls and see it first hand, for yourself.
WHITEWATER RAFTING
In the canyons below the Victoria Falls lies the greatest white-water rafting corridor, and the most exciting, adrenaline-fueled rafting experience on earth. Bring as little as possible, maybe some sun lotion and a swimming costume, make sure your sunglasses are securely tied to you, and hold on tight!
